Concept
Mahsuri was a beautiful Malay Princess unjustly put to
death for commiting adultery. Her innocence was proven when,after
being stabbed to death with her own "Keris",white blood
oozed from her body.It is believed that the shores of Langkawi
are pure white because of her innocence.
The Makam (Mausoleum) Mahsuri was erected in her honour, and is
the heart of the Kota Mahsuri Cultural Centre.
